It’s time to try Crossfit!

it’s time to put yourself to the test: If you want a different body, then try training differently!

I have been saying for a long time that I wanted to try Crossfit.  I have made up every excuse in the book to avoid testing it out because I know that my endurance sucks and that the Crossfit Cult would put my level of fitness to shame.

This month, I am facing my fears! I went to my first Crossfit Endurance Training Class last night at Brick, Los Angeles. It was a relief to allow someone else to train me for a change and I was impressed by the high-energy instructor, Lauren. The members were in great shape and everyone was super-friendly, and super-fit. It was just the push I needed to perform the most grueling form of cardio ever……running!

After an intense warm-up, Lauren, made me do things that I make my clients do weekly…..but never actually do myself…..BURPEES! AND LOTS OF THEM! I totally understand now why my clients call them “vomitees!” LOL

I put my ego aside…..because I had a feeling that I would finish last (and I did). At least I can be proud of myself for the fact that I never stopped, never gave up, and never stopped to walk! I feel great now that it’s over and so happy that I didn’t flake out….even though I tried thinking of every reason in the world to do so!

If you are wondering what a Crossfit Endurance Class feels like, then here is tonight’s routine:

  • 10 burpees followed by 200 meter run
  • 90 second rest
  • 10 burpees followed by 300 meter run
