Can’t seem to eat enough vegetables? Try Drinking them!

The USDA recommends that we eat 8-10 servings of vegetables a day, but how many of us actually do this? Let’s face it: We all know that veggies are good for us, but they are boring and take too long to chop, cook, and chew.

I have found an easy way to get my greens by drinking them. I know it sounds disgusting, but it honestly isn’t that bad. Plus, it leaves me feeling great afterwards!

Fiber is important for many reasons:

  • It allows us to get rid of toxins and waste
  • It allows us to retain water…helping us to stay hydrated
  • It is slow-digesting and leaves us feeling satiated and feeling full for longer periods than other foods
  • In the form of Vegetables, fiber contains important nutrients that are necessary for important chemical reactions within the body

Try my favorite green drink and get 4 servings of vegetables at once! You will need a blender for this one. Here is my recipe:

  • 2 oz raw kale
  • 2 oz raw spinach
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1 medium-sized Persian cucumber
  • 1/2 lemon (peel removed)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2-1 cup ice
