Recipe: Barbequed Drumsticks
Memorial Weekend is here and I can already smell the barbeque burning! I have always wanted to learn to make my own drumstick sauces and I have finally come up with some very tasty home-made recipes.
EASY BBQ DRUMSTICKS
Prep: 30 minutes
Grill: 13 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
- 4 chicken drumsticks
- 1 tbs vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbs chili powder
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup bottled chili sauce
- 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbs cider vinegar
- 1 tbs packed brown sugar
Method:
For bbq sauce
- In a medium saucepan, heat oil over medium
- Add onion and garlic
- Stir in chili powder
- Cook for 1 more minute
- Stir in cola, ketchup, chili sauce, Worcestershire, vinegar, and brown sugar
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat
- Simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes, or until desired consistency is reached
For charcoal or gas grill:
- Place drumsticks on a covered grilling rack for 8 minutes
- Brush with bbq sauce
- Turn drumsticks and brush top layer with additional bbq sauce
- Cover and grill for 5-6 more minutes or until thoroughly cooked
- Serve with remaining bbq sauce
