Squats for slimmer stems

How many times a day do you sit down? It’s not a trick question! Every time you get into your car, eat a meal, and work on a computer, you are performing a squat.

The body weight squat is the most important and most effective lower-body exercise that you can practice. The chances are you will be engaging in squats for the rest of your life, so you might as well get good at them now.

The squat is an awesome way to work your core muscles and target all of  your lower body. You don’t even need a gym because squats can be done anywhere! Just follow these helpful tips and perform 3 sets of 25 reps daily for slimmer legs and tighter glutes.

  1. Are the legs, like abs, the exception to the rule that you shouldn’t train a specific muscle group every day? Legs don’t need a day(s) off from training?

  2. There are various opinions on this. I do not treat the abs the same as other muscle groups and I have no problem working them out every day. When muscles are fatigued, they do not tend to work efficiently. Usually we feel this fatigue through soreness or exhaustion (like not being able to walk up the stairs after a brutal leg day). If a muscle can’t be efficient, then there is no reason to use it. What I have discovered with abs is that the more often I work them, the LESS sore they are on a daily basis and they are never so exhausted that I fail during a set of abs. Abs only make me sore when I never do them. This is why I have no reason not to pump them daily. I hope that helps Roland “) Thanks for picking my brain!

  3. Three sets of twenty five every day! That sounds like a reseanable goal! Thanks Lauren.

  4. Exactly! This month is going to be all about baby steps! Don’t be the one that signs up for a gym membership and hits it hard all of January just to give up by February! All of my demos will be exercises that you can do at home. Keep following for more helpful tips 🙂
