New Year’s Resolution #6: Sign up for 1 group fitness class/week or follow 1 exercise video

TGIF! It’s been a long week and I can’t wait to get off work and start my weekend! All of my friends are hitting “Happy Hour” and I really want to go. My favorite pub is serving $3 pints and $3 appetizers like sweet potato fries, onion rings, and meatballs!

The problem is that deep down I know that Happy Hour won’t really make me happy. I will probably just wake up tomorrow groggy, bloated, and very disappointed in myself. I know I should be exercising instead because getting the body that I want is going to bring me more happiness than that yummy espresso martini.

It’s hard to get motivated when all of your friends are out having fun without you. Sometimes it just feels better to be part of a group, so today I am recommending that we all sign up for 1 group fitness class per week or participate in 1 exercise video.

I am really good at saying “I’ve always wanted to try that,” but I never seem to follow through. So today, I am going to search my options: dance class, kick-boxing, spinning, yoga, or maybe just save some money and have a laugh to an 80’s Richard Simmons workout video!

No matter where you live, there are many choices to explore. Invite your friends to join you. Friday nights can be fun without Happy Hour. Besides, there will be plenty of binging opportunities this weekend and you won’t have to feel as guilty for partaking in them if you workout first.
